ULTIMATE SUCCESS FORMULA
Those who attained excellence follow a consistent path to success. The path is called Ultimate Success Formula (USF).
(a) The first step of this formula is to know your outcome, which is to define precisely what you want.
(b) The second step is to take action - otherwise your desires will always remain dreams. You must take the type of action you believe will create the greatest probability of producing the result of your desire. The actions we take do not always produce the result we desire.
(c) The third step is to develop the sensory acuity to recognize the kind of responses and results you are getting from your actions to note as quickly as possible if they are taking you closer to your goals or not. You must know what you are getting from your actions, whether it is in a conversation or from your daily habits in life. If what you are getting is not what you want, you need to note what results your actions have produced so that you learn from every human experience.
(d) The fourth step is to develop the flexibility to change your behaviour until you get what you want.
In the above steps one major hidden factor which need to be mentioned is that not a single person, became successful overnight. Take the case of Colonel Sanders the founder of KFC, he after retirement from the army, wanted to sell his recipe to restaurant owners and have them give him a percentage of the proceeds.
Do you know how many times Colonel Sanders failed before he got his breakthrough? He was rejected 1,000+ times. Colonel Sanders made a fortune because he had the ability to take massive determined action. He had the personal power necessary to produce the results he desired most. He had the ability to hear the word “no” more then thousand times and still communicate to himself in a way that got him to knock on the next door, totally convinced that it could be the one where someone said yes.
There are seven character traits that successful people cultivate within themselves, that give them fire to do whatever it takes to succeed. These are seven basic triggering mechanisms that can ensure your success as well:-
(a) PASSION All the successful people have discovered a reason, a consuming, energizing, almost obsessive purpose that drives them to do, and to be more! It gives them the fuel that powers their success train and causes them to tap their true potential. It is a passion that drives a student to stay up late and get up early for studies. It is a passion that people want in their relationships. Passion gives live power, juice and meaning. There is no greatness without a passion to be great, whether it is an aspiration of an athlete, or an artist, a scientist, a parent, or a businessman.
(b) BELIEF People who succeed on major scale differ greatly in their beliefs from those who fail. Our beliefs about what we are and what we can be precisely determine what we will be. If we believe in magic, we will live a magical life. If we believe that our life is defined by narrow limits, we have suddenly made those limits real. What we believe is true becomes true, what we believe is possible becomes possible. People who succeed know what they want and believe that they can get it.
(c) STRATEGY A strategy is a way of organizing resources. You can open the door by breaking it down or you can kind the key that opens it intact. It is not enough to have adequate resources at your disposal or organize the resources but to utilize them in the most optimum way it what strategy is all about. Every politician, entertainer, student, parent, employer knows it is not enough to have the resources to succeed. One must use these resources strategically to succeed.
(d) VALUE FOR TIME Successful people understand the rarity of the commodity called TIME. This is one priced possession they will never spend unnecessarily. They plan their future, years, months, days and hours and with intense focus keep adjusting the sail of their boat to achieve their target. Watching TV, gossiping, wasting of time with friends with out any purpose is never on their agenda. If you want to be successful, from this moment onwards please keep a strict watch on your time. Let no one in this world waste your time.
(d) CLARITY OF VALUES Values are the fundamental, ethical, moral, and practical judgment we make about what is important, what really matters. Values are the specific belief system we have about what is right and what is wrong for our lives. They are the judgment we make that makes the life worth living. Many people do not know what is important to them. Often individuals do things that afterwards they are unhappy with themselves about simply because they are not clear about what they unconsciously believe is right for them and others.
When we look at great success we find people with a clear fundamental sense about what really matters. These people have a fundamental moral grounding, a sense of who they are and why they do what they do. Be is Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, or Jamshed Ratan Tata the clarity of values for all the great visionaries is a common factor.
(e) ENERGY People of excellence are dynamos of energy. They take opportunity and shape them. They live as if obsessed with the wondrous opportunities of each day and the recognition that the one thing no one has enough is TIME. Great success is inseparable from the physical, intellectual, and spiritual energy that allows us to make the most of what we have.
(f) BONDING POWER Nearly all successful people have in common an extraordinary ability to connect with others, the ability to bond with and develop rapport with people from a variety of backgrounds and beliefs. The greatest success resides in the deepest recesses of your own heart. Deep down, every one needs to form long lasting, living bonds with others. Without that, any success, any excellence is hollow indeed.
(g) MASTERY OF COMMUNICATION The way we communicate with others and the way we communicate with ourselves, ultimately determines the quality of our lives. People who succeed in life are those who have learned how to take any challenge that life gives them and communicate that experience to themselves in a way that causes them to successfully change things. People, who fail, take the adversities of life and accept them as limitations. The people who shape our lives and our cultures are also master of communication to others. What they have in common is an ability to communicate a vision or a quest or a joy or a mission. Mastery of communication is what makes a great parent or a great artist or a great politician or a great teacher.
What do we do when we try everything we can and things still turnout wrong? People who succeed do not have fewer problems than people who fail. The only people without problems are those in cemeteries. It is not what happens to us that separates failure from success. It is how we perceive it and what we do about what “happens” that makes the difference.
INTEGRATION OF ‘CHISEN BOP’ AND ‘VEDIC MATHS’ CONCEPTS
Numbers have fascinated man since their inception. They demand very fine sense of discrimination, alertness, and power of reasoning. There is no doubt in the fact that dealing with numbers calls for what the best the human mind can give. The numbers have become inseparable part of our curriculum and our daily life.
In most of the international and national competitive examinations conducted by IIT's, IIM's, SAT, GRE & GMAT and other engineering and management course entrance examinations, the ability of candidate with familiarity with numbers and fundamentals is tested against time. It has been observed that most of the students who are selected for these prestigious competitions have a very keen understanding of numbers, which traditionally comes after a lot of practise and memorising tables, squares, cubes of numbers up to two or three digits. This is a very tedious and time consuming task, a student who is weak in mathematics is either ill prepared in this subject or his/her other subjects get ignored.
Smart League Power Maths is yet another powerful Mathematical tool developed by Research & Development Team of Smart League Education. Smart League Power Maths is an integrated approach using Chisen Bop (Korean technique for small numbers) and Vedic Techniques.
Chisen Bop is a powerful Korean technique to handle addition/subtraction of small numbers at amazing speed. Though the traditional technique has a limitation of dealing numbers up to 99. The unique methods developed by Smart League Education, students can handle mental calculations of five digit numbers using this technique.
Vedic method of Mental arithmetic is a well researched subject, by His Holiness Jagadguru Shankaracharaya. Though the subject is quite vast and universal in nature, here we teach the techniques of Vedic mathematics which are simple and do not involve memorising tables beyond 9. Arithmetic problems, which usually take 15 to 20 steps to solve, can be solved in a few lines. The course is quite useful for the students in competitive examinations, because it gives them powerful tool of analysis, logic, speed and accuracy in solving problems. Mental Maths by Vedic Method is very fascinating form of training, this is very useful for the students of Class seven and above. There is no upper age limit for Smart League Power Maths curriculum. Even elders can use these techniques to keep their brain sharp and agile. Smart League Education Management would highly appreciate your valuable suggestions and comments to make this curriculum even more meaningful and effective. You can mail your view, suggestions and/or comments to smartleague@gmail.com

MENTAL MATHS - FAQ
SMART LEAGUE basic program is based on a smart mix of CHISEN BOP, ABACUS and Vedic based Mental Maths Curriculum. The mental calculations are based, initially on Chisen Bop techniques and abacus techniques. Students from the beginning are taught to perform calculations on ‘Mental Abacus’. Our special techniques ensure better memory retention, efficiency and inculcation of competitive spirit in the students. Initially the program was designed for students of 7 – 13 years age group, how ever based on feed back from schools and centres, separate basic age specific programs have been developed, now for students of third and fourth grades there is a separate study material and for fifth to seventh graders there is a separate basic program.
Q - How does chisen bop, abacus and vedic based maths differ from the ‘mathematics’ traditionally taught in the schools?
Chisen Bop is a Korean technique where addition/subtraction of numbers up to 99 could be performed on fingers. In Abacus numbers are converted to beads and the resultant movements of beads represents arithmetic operations. At the end of the operation the relative position of the beads reconverted to numbers give out the correct solution. With practice and increase in proficiency, the physical abacus can be dispensed with and the said operations can be performed on ‘Mental Abacus’ thereby ensuring speedy solutions to arithmetic problems. Vedic mathematics simplifies the procedure for deriving the solution for mathematical computations. A combination of abacus and Vedic mathematics can significantly cut down the required time to derive at a solution for complex mathematical computations. Based on experience it has been observed by us that small percentage of students (approx 12-15%) find it difficult to visualise the beads in mind. In such cases, we have found that Mental maths with chisen bop and mental techniques developed in house by Smart League Education are quite useful and students are able to use these techniques and carry out up to six digits addition/subtraction problem with ease and at great speed. Due to these unique techniques our success rates is in schools is 90+%, which is quite high compared to other companies where the max success rates are generally limited to 60 to 65+%.
Q - Will this training conflict with the school’s method of teaching math?
Certainly not in our case. The traditional abacus techniques practised by most of the Abacus Programs have been found to deal with multiplications from left to right, where as in schools the students are taught to multiply from right to left. This contradiction of techniques some times result in a confused student and has been the major reason for growing resistance in the parents and education community towards abacus education. Smart League Education has developed techniques which conforms to the School methodology and removes contradiction of abacus techniques. This is one of the main reasons of popularity of Smart League Education Programs in Schools.
Q - Does my child require an abacus to calculate?
Yes, the abacus is the basic tool on which all the fundamental concepts are taught. Though as the students move into the advance levels, use of mental abacus is more at advance level. At the master’s level calculations are predominantly done on mental abacus.
Q - How Long Does It Take To Learn Abacus Based Maths?
The basic proficiency and imaging skill are developed in the SMART LEAGUE - BASIC COURSE, this course takes one year in private centre and two years in schools. The advanced course takes six months and master’s level takes another six months and one year each in when conducted in schools.
Q - If My Child Attends Only The Basic Course, Will He/She Get The Complete Advantages Listed In The Course.
The parents will start observing the benefits of the course after the second module itself. Concentration techniques, competitive skills, speed & focus are taught during basic course. Mathematically all four basic operations are taught on abacus as well as on mental abacus. In the advanced and masters course these skills are honed and perfected.
Q - How do you evaluate the performance of your students?
Performance evaluation and counselling to improve performance is an essential and important part of the program. At the end of every module the students are tested for their accuracy and speed, based on their accuracy, marks are awarded. Our module passing standards are very high, 70% and above is considered as passing percentage. However we aim at 80+%for our entire batch. Certificates are issued after completion of two modules.
Q - Can I attend the class with my child?
NO, the reason is purely psychological. It results in performance anxiety in the parents, and some times also adversely affects the performance of the child. However in all over private centres, all parents are most welcome to interact with our faculty or attend other student’s classes. In schools where our programs are conducted we have a policy that any parent need our advice can contact us anytime with permission from schools in addition we organise periodical parents-mentors meet to exchange notes on progress of our students.
Q - My child is not good in math at all. What kind of improvement can I expect?
Our training methodology and approach differs so greatly from that of conventional mathematics, that a lack of ability in conventional maths does not have any bearing on the learning ability of maths for this program. On the contrary, some of the most successful students have been those who have previously experienced difficulty in the subject. If a student is dedicated to the program, receives adequate parental support and encouragement, and persists through the initial training period, than dramatic results are guaranteed.
Q - My child is already excellent in maths. Is there any benefit for him to join ‘Smart League Basic Course’?
YES, definitely, Chisen Bop, Abacus and Maths are used only as a tool to train the child to learn the art of concentration, competitive spirit, self confidence and enhanced self image. The secret of this program lies in its ability to generate sufficient challenge for all the students. You will find that your child becomes extra efficient, a smart learner, with improved concentration & focus and a keen listener. This program has been designed to boost your child’s self esteem & self belief, which are an absolute requirement to be successful in life.
Q - Can I attend this course as a student?
Yes, any one can attend the course, but imaging skill proficiency will vary from individual to individual and decreases from the age of 15.
Q - Is imaging skills and mental arithmetic an inborn talent?
No, some people think that only intelligent kids can master mental maths and imaging skills. The ability to master this skill depends not on the child’s IQ but entirely on his persistence and perseverance, which are function of Emotional Quotient. The good thing about EQ is that a child can be trained to improve his EQ which is one of the major criteria for success.
Q - Why should my child learn mental maths using an abacus?
The regular practice of mental maths using an abacus will have distinctive advantages for your child.
- The smart skills learnt will enable your child to do calculation at amazing speed with accuracy.
- The Chisen Bop techniques stimulate both sides of the brain, and balance the brain function.
- Scientists have found that an average human being uses only 10% of his brain’s potential most of the time. SMART LEAGUE program helps students to tap the unlimited resources of the brain. It makes students smart learners.
- After attending our program, students will learn to acquire imaging skills, they will never hate maths again and will be able to solve the problems with tremendous confidence.
- The program also improves the child’s ability to retain and recall with efficiency and speed.
- With our well structured listening exercises, our students become keen listeners and this also benefits in their conventional classes for other subjects.
- Our proven techniques instil a high degree of competitiveness in the students.
- OUR AIM : Whole brain development & teach success strategies.
Q - With so many abacus based mental arithmetic courses, from india and abroad, what is the unique advantage of ‘Smart League Education’?
The difference lies in unique techniques developed by us which conform to the teaching methodology practised in International and Indian schools. Second difference is of our commitment to quality and sincerity towards achieving it. Third and the major difference is the variety of Mental Maths programs that we have to offer which has no parallel in the international or national ‘Mental Maths’ field.

MENTAL MATHS PROGRAMS WITH UNLIMITED POTENTIAL
The endeavour of Smart Leaguers is to learn the mental maths to that degree that they are easily and confidently able to outperform calculator in simple calculations.
DO YOU WANT YOUR CHILD TO DO THESE CALCULATIONS MENTALLY AND FASTER THAN CALCULATOR?
6798X23 + 823 - 296 = ?
5130/54 + 461 + 297 = ?
9751 + 2981 - 3183 = ?
We in SMART LEAGUE, train our students to do these calculations mentally and faster than calculator.
WHY SMART LEAGUE?
It has been proven time and again that students with better EQ, who are fast in comprehension, tackling problems & quick on their reflexes with sharp concentration and focus are the one who get very high merit in the competitive examinations i.e. GMAT and GRE and other prestigious examinations like IAS, IIT’s, IIM’s, AIIMS Some of the skills to ensure success are listed below.
Emotional Quotient
Concentration and Focus
Temperament
Speed
Self Confidence
Accuracy
Consistency
Self Belief
The SMART LEAGUE EDUCATION students are formally trained to acquire these skills to excel in any competition.
INTRODUCTION
SMART LEAGUE is a comprehensive brain and temperament stimulation program based on Chisen Bop, Abacus, Vedic maths and fine competitive tools. SMART LEAGUE students are not only faster than calculator, they have better temperament, concentration, listening skills, attention span and speed with accuracy. These children are more self confident and have a positive self belief with high self esteem.
BRAIN DEVELOPMENT
Researchers in the academic field have established that majority of population uses only one side of the brain i.e. Left-brain, the great potential of right brain remains untapped. All our conventional teaching methods aim to develop only left-brain. Left brain deals with analytical ability and logical reasoning. The right-brain deals with creativity and images, activation of right brain and its coordination with left-brain results in enhanced overall academic performance.
Maximum growth of brain of a child takes place from the age of 4 years to 15 years and by that time the brain gets developed up to 80%. This is the reason the finely structured SMART LEAGUE EDUCATION programs are designed for the children from 4 to 15 years of age.
THE SMART LEAGUE EDUCATION PROGRAMS WITH CHISEN BOP AND MENTAL ABACUS TECHNIQUES TRAIN THE STUDENTS TO USE THEIR RIGHT BRAIN IN COORDINATION WITH LEFT BRAIN. THIS RESULTS IN A BALANCED BRAIN DEVELOPMENT AND SMARTER CHILD, READY TO TAKE ON THE CHALLENGES OF COMPETITION.
Once the students complete the course - they will be faster than calculator in arithmetic calculations. This is one of the reason why this course is popular among children. The actual advantages of the program are enhanced self belief and self esteem, improved concentration, speed with accuracy, memory and self-confidence. The program conditions the child to face and enjoy the competition; they become seasoned and fiercely competitive.

The classes are conducted once a week, after school time and on Saturday and Sundays. The duration of a class is two hours.
NUMBER CRUNCHING ON ABACUS LEADS TO BRAIN DEVELOPMENT
Smart League Education has taken the initiative to indigenise the abacus education and added certain unique vedic techniques in the program, the result is that smart league abacus programs have become very popular among students and parents.
“Ours is the only Indian program of international standard which will soon be conducted in other countries. Many schools have adapted this program as part of their curriculum, whereas two periods are given for ‘mental maths’, the teacher to student ratio is maintained at not more then 1:15, strict quality control is being exercised to ensure that maximum students get the benefit of the program.” Said the founding member Col Banbir Singh.
“We want sincere educationist to be part of ‘Smart League’ family, already eight schools in Bangalore have subscribed to the program as ‘Mental Maths’ and the same is being taught during the regular school hours, more than 5000 students are getting benefited with mental maths programs.” Said Ms Reeta Lamba, Regional representative Smart League, Calcutta, India.
“When the program is conducted in Smart League Education Centres (SLEC), the maximum strength in a batch is never allowed to exceed 15. In SLEC the main advantage is that one session is of two hours every week and as and when the requirement is felt an extra coaching is arranged on a pre-designated week day after school hours for doubt clearing session which are quite important. However the program is little expensive compared to schools when run in private centres. We have made the same programs available to the schools, who show keen interest in additional value education to give that extra edge to their students. The unique feature of our program is that schools have an option to see the effectiveness of the program by subscribing to our ‘Pilot Project’ where we introduce the concepts to single class, the minimum number students for pilot project is 150 students. The ‘Pilot Project’ is a low budget ‘Show Window’ for the schools to see the effectiveness of the program. At the end of ‘Pilot Project’ schools have an option to adopt the program for the entire applicable age group. When program is adopted for the entire school the cost benefit is given to the parents and program is made available at fractional cost, while maintaining the quality of the program.” Briefed Ms Anita Singh the regional Smart League representative at Rajasthan, Jaipur.
“The unique feature of the ‘Smart League Education’ is the availability of programs for different age groups i.e. Smart Maths program for 4-6 years age group where we introduce the number concepts and addition subtraction concepts to young ones, it is an international quality program, our basic program has two variations i.e. for 7-8 years and 9-13 years age group. It is done so that none of our student is stressed due to the intensity of the program (which happens on most of other programs). Each program is designed in such a way that the students ‘enjoy’ the program while learning the intricacies of ‘Mental Maths’ and ‘Success Skills’, our next program is called ‘Power Maths’ designed for 13 years and above with no upper age limit. The program is a unique combination of ‘Chisen Bop’ and ‘Vedic’ techniques where the best of the techniques have been integrated to give maximum benefit to the students. This program is particularly popular with students who are preparing for competitive exams i.e. management related or other competitive exams where number skill are tested against time, and have to attempt number crunching problems in a short time.
To the best of our knowledge such a variety of programs is not available with any other mental maths education company/academy.” Said Dr Ajay K R a renowned medical practitioner and the founding member of Smart League Education.

Which is better Mental Maths - Abacus or Vedic or Chisenbop
What you need is not conventional approach to problem. You should be accurately understand the problem, quickly analyse and effectively act on solutions. To do this one needs to be master of numbers. Conventional methods do give us solutions, but the methods are cumbersome, approach quite monotonous and some time a simple problem will have complicated solutions.
What do we do than? The answer is Mental Maths!!!
Mental Maths has been explored by most of the civilisations,
Chinese invented Abacus and derived Mental Maths based on virtual movements of beads of abacus in one's mind.
Koreans play with numbers on fingers, and don't need calculator for smaller calculations. The Korean techniques is called Chisenbop. Interestingly some so-called multinational companies claim to invent this technique which in not only incorrect, but misleading also.
One of such organisation, which has completely committed to discover the wonders of Mental Maths is Smart League Education. Experts from Smart League Education have studied these techniques in depth and exploited their full potential by integrating both the techniques and using them effectively for Mental maths calculations as well.
Practically it has been seen that if students upto the age of 14 years pick up these techniques to varied degree of proficieny. The younger the student is, the better are the chances of success, it has been observed that if interested the students of 14 or 15 years also get tremendous advantage if they are able to persist for some time. For higher age groups some time if the pace is not set correctly than the same techniques become boring. But for younger age groups if the coaching is hurried up it puts them under unnecessary stress. The sad part of the story is that for commercial interests most of the organisations club as many as 25 students of all age group and teach them with the same material. Some times this leads either younger students loosing interest in the subject as they work with incompatible high age group or big students find it boring because they have to wait for their kid-classmates who take long time to complete their work esp in the initial months. Few of the these traditional techniques esp traditional abacus techniques do conflict with the conventional calculation techniques taught in schools, this contradiction some times result in the state of confusion for the student. The situation becomes bad to worse when school teachers and the abacus teachers, both take a rigid stand and claim that their technique is the only right technique and needs to be followed with a sense of rigidity.
It is encouraging to note that Curriculum Developement Division of Smart Leaguers, have continuously evolved these techniques and also integrated vedic techniques for the higher age group. They have systematically removed all the ambiguity from the traditional techniques and replaced them with students friendly techniques which are in sync with the way Maths is taught in the schools.
There are four different programs based on the age groups of students, this removes any undue pressure and/or monotony in the course. The programs are crisp and learning is based on stress free and fun-filled environment. Brief details of the programs are as given below:
SMART MATHS : Introduction to numbers with abacus - The program is designed to initiate learning of numbers with abacus and with mental abacus - Age gp - 4 to 6 yrs students, Class compatibility - LKG to Std I
Smart League Basic+Advanced+Master Program for Grade II to Grade IV students (With less degree of difficulty)
Smart League Basic+Advanced+Master Program for Grade V to Grade VII students (With medium degree of difficulty)
Power Maths : Combination of Chisenbop and Vedic techniques, Mental Maths for grade VIII to grade IX and also for the students who aspire for competitive exams where numerical ability is assessed. It is interesting to note that in Chisenbop technique, if you use only fingers for calculations, only sums of addition and subtraction limited to 99 can only be performed.
However, I have personally used this technique on visually impaired students, who were appearing for first/second years of their graduation (B.Com). The biggest problem these students were facing was that firstly they were totally dependent on their helpers.(visually impaired students are permitted to use helpers to write their papers) for any calculations to be done in statistics etc, secondly, they were getting low marks because of the mistakes made by their helpers in feeding the numbers in calculator.
When they asked me for guidance, I only told them the techniques which we practice are powerful, only if we have faith in them. We started with definitive aim that at the end of the few months, they should be able to use these techniques in their regular statisitical problems. After few sessions, in less than four months, these students were able to do any kind of five digits calculations of addition/subtraction on fingers and in mind that too as fast as calculator. For multiplication and division with the help of Vedic techniques they are able to perform complex arithmetic calculations in their mind. However I would like to amplify that the credit does not go to us, the entire credit goes to these kids who had belief in me and the techniques I taught them. Now with sufficient practice their own classmates use them for most of the calculations or for confirmation of the results in place of Calculator!!!! Is this not amazing???
